In partnership with Alberta’s Promise, Aspire is excited to announce we have received an equipment grant from IBM Canada Ltd., as part of the IBM KidSmart Early Learning Program. The innovative new IBM Young Explorer computer workstation is located in Aspire’s main reception area for children and families to utilize while they wait for appointments. This station will also be used by children in our programs, on an individual basis.
This past summer, Stantec partnered with Westerner Park for the second ‘We All Play’ program at Westerner Days Fair & Exposition. The concept of the program was to provide complimentary admission and parking passes to Central Alberta families who might not otherwise be able to enjoy the Fair. Stantec chose Aspire Special Needs Resource Centre as its charity of choice for 2014, allowing 70 Aspire families the chance to attend the Fair and enjoy the sites and sounds of Westerner Days.

The Red Deer Chapter of the Learning Disabilities Association of Alberta is accepting applications to their upcoming THINK SOCIAL program. The primary goal of the program is to assist students in acquiring social competencies that foster and enhance relationships.
This year, the Bo's & Friends Golf Classic chose Aspire as the charity of choice for their annual golf tournament, held on July 24th at the Sylvan Lake Golf & Country Club. Thanks to supportive vendors, generous golfers, and some very special individual donations, Aspire accepted nearly $15,000 from this tournament!
Aspire is excited to have received a recent donation that will ensure the continuation of a very popular summer program. TransCanada Corporation has provided funding for Aspire's ParkIt program. Funds will also enable Aspire to purchase a new computer and materials for our Resource Library.
Park IT,our outdoor summer playgroup for children with special needs and their families, has wrapped up with the final Park IT date on August 26th. We are proud to say that with the move to two days a week, this year's Park IT program was a huge hit with families!
Aspire Special Needs Resource Centre is happy to be included on the list of organizations in Central Alberta to have received assistance from the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation. The foundation's recent donation of $4,007 will be quickly put to use in order to purchase a SMARTboard whiteboard system for our adapted EASE preschool program.
