Position: Child Development Facilitator (CDF)

Our preschool program, Early Access to Supportive Education (EASE) offers an exciting opportunity to work directly with children and their families in a supportive, multidisciplinary school environment.

The EASE Program provides a range of services to young children with special needs who qualify for Program Unit Funding (PUF).  The successful candidate will be supporting the Teacher in the provision of ECS programming to children with special needs.  Child development facilitators (CDF) work within a classroom team that includes teachers, therapists and other CDF’s to implement strategies to meet individual child goals using a play based approach.  In addition, CDFs facilitate inclusion in a community playschool setting and assist in transporting children to programming.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum ELCC or EA Certificate, ELCC Diploma, DACS Diploma or similar designation and experience combination. The successful candidate must also have a valid Alberta driver’s license in good standing and access to a vehicle is required. 

Wage: The wage for this position is commensurate with Aspire salary grid, starting at $16.50/hr, and is based on education, training and experience.

Position: Registered Child Psychologist
Reports to: Supervisors of the Early Access to Supportive Education (EASE) Preschool and Individualized Services (IS)
Location: Red Deer, AB
Status: Permanent Full Time (1.0 FTE)

Aspire has an exciting opportunity for someone interested in working in both our specialized preschool and our assessment/diagnostic/consultative program.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to provide a variety of psychological services to children and youth alongside speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and special education teachers.  This professional would have a primary focus on addressing behavioural concerns by providing assessment, diagnostic, consultation and intervention services to children with social, emotional and behavioural challenges between 18 months and 12 years of age in consultation with the assessment team.

 Qualifications & Skills:

  • Must be a Registered Psychologist in Alberta or be eligible for registration (if out of province).
  • A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle are required.
  • Experience providing behavioural intervention with children who have special needs is also required. Training in Autism Spectrum Disorder assessment and diagnosis is an asset. 

Start Date: August 28th, 2017
Salary Range: Commensurate with experience.
