The 23rd annual Evening of Decadent Dessert was held on May 12, 2017, and the event was a great success! Evening of Decadent Dessert raised $129,000 and the Aspire Children’s Raffle raised $35,000. This means that Aspire raised a total of $164,000 between the two fundraisers, and exceeded our goal!

Evening of Decadent dessert is an essential piece of the puzzle at Aspire. It is our biggest fundraising event of the year, and all proceeds from this fabulous evening support the programs and services at Aspire Special Needs Resource Centre, as well as fee assistance for families.
As a guest, you will enjoy a champagne reception, buffet dinner, live entertainment, raffles and silent auction. The highlight of the evening is an exciting live auction, featuring one-of-a-kind desserts created by chefs and bakers from across Central Alberta. These desserts may be sold individually or in combination with high-quality auction packages.

The annual Aspire Children's Raffle is another highlight at Evening of Decadent Dessert, as the three fabulous prizes are drawn at the event. Thank you for supporting Aspire's annual fundraising raffle!
Buy individual tickets or a table of 8 online and a tax receipt will be issued to the purchaser. If you would like a table, but your group will be paying for their tickets individually, please call Aspire at 403-2606 (See below for more details).
An individual ticket is $100 and a table of 8 is $750. For multiple single tickets, enter the corresponding amount in the “other” option, i.e. 3 tickets = $300.
Your ticket(s) and tax receipts will be mailed to you closer to the date of the event
The purchaser of a $100 ticket is eligible to receive a charitable donation tax receipt for $68. The purchaser of a table for $750 is eligible to receive a charitable donation tax receipt of $494. Tax receipts for ticket purchases made online will only be issued under the cardholder’s name on the credit card that is paying for the tickets, as per Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) rules. The Income Tax Act does not permit the issuing of tax receipts to anyone other than the person whose name is on the credit card used.
If you would like to purchase a table, but your group wants to pay individually and receive individual tax receipts for their ticket purchases, please call the office and we can accommodate you. The cost per ticket of those buying a table together is $93.75. The tax receipt issued would be for $61.75.

Make a donation to the Evening of Decadent Dessert! Would you like to make a difference in the life of a child with special needs? If so, we need you!
The highlight of Evening of Decadent Dessert is the wonderful array of decadent desserts, donated by local businesses and individuals.
Please consider donating TWO identical desserts: one will be used in our live auction and will be served to our guests in the Decadent Dessert Buffet later that evening. The second dessert will be presented to the purchaser in the form of a gift certificate or voucher for a dessert of equal value to be redeemed at a later date of their choosing.
Alternatively, you may wish to donate TWO desserts to our Decadent Dessert Buffet. One dessert will be featured in our Decadent Dessert Buffet (served to guests after the auction), which is a highlight of the evening.
The second dessert will be presented to the winner of a door prize in the form of a gift certificate or voucher (of equal value to the first dessert) for redemption at a later date, so that they can claim their prize at a time of their choosing.

As a cake donor you will be recognized in the donor PowerPoint presentations that run throughout the evening at the event. Your name will be promoted in the event program, and Aspire's Annual Report, as well as on our website, social media and at the event in a manner specific to your donation.

Any type of elegant cake or dessert. It may be a themed cake. A maximum of 15 items will be selected for the live auction. All other dessert donations will be used in the Decadent Dessert Buffet. (Auction choice will be made at the discretion of the dessert committee)

Be a part of a great team! Every year, volunteer contributions are at the heart of Evening of Decadent Dessert.
We invite volunteers to be part of the planning committee or to provide help at the event. We welcome and appreciate all volunteer assistance!
Silent Auction Phone Volunteers (6 people needed)
Description and tasks: Prior to the volunteer phoning tasks, request letters will be mailed out by Aspire staff to the list of past silent auction donors. Volunteer phoners will then make follow-up calls to their list of 10+ prospective donors every week or two until receiving confirmation whether or not past donors will donate again this year. Picking up the items and bringing them to Aspire is sometimes needed, but not always.
Aspire has a script to follow, as well as a great list of past donors. The silent auction brings in close to $24,000 of the total Evening of Decadent Dessert funds raised for Aspire. It is an important way of helping children with special needs and their families in Red Deer and Central Alberta.
Help is needed from mid-January until the event on Friday, May 12th, 2017. 5-7 hours a month approximate time commitment. Training is provided.

Wine Raffle Coordinator needed
A Wine Raffle Coordinator is needed to acquire three display containers to use for three prize groups, as well as work with a list of donors to solicit a few bottles of wine and then put all the donated wine in the containers before the event on May 12th.
