Aspire Special Needs Resource Centre is a charitable organization providing hope to children with special needs, the families who love them and the communities that care for them. Born from the commitment of a dedicated group of parents and professionals, we work every day to create a fully integrated service environment where every child is individually assessed and supported.

Excellent opportunity to join the Early Access to Supportive Education (EASE) Preschool Team of Aspire. The EASE Team provides comprehensive early educational services to young children with a wide range of severe and complex special needs. Primary functions of the team include development and implementation of individual program plans, intervention strategies and support for children and their parents.

The Teacher/Coordinator will work with an onsite multidisciplinary professional team including Speech-Language Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, Behaviour Consultant and Psychologist. This staff will also be responsible for developing adapted programs for the classroom and for providing training and information to parents and staff.
The successful candidate will also supervise a classroom team of Child Development Facilitators who work directly with the children. This position requires a high level of skill in coordinating services and staff.

Qualifications:

Education degree as well as knowledge, experience, and interest in working in a play-based environment with preschool children who have severe and complex needs. Candidate must have good administrative, planning, supervision, and collaborative skills. Flexibility and creativity are important attributes to be successful in this position.
