Sometimes a family wants more support at home or in their community program. Also, school programs may require assessment or intervention services to support a child in their classroom. Our Consultation & Therapy Services allow you to design your own program by choosing from any of the services offered.
What does a Behaviour Specialist do?
Behavioral consultants help children develop positive behavior. The consultant works with parents, caregivers and educators to provide information and assistance with supporting a child’s behavioural and emotional needs. Behaviour specialists at Aspire are highly qualified and experienced. Our Behaviour Specialists will partner with you to determine your child’s strengths and abilities and support you with suggesting appropriate strategies and to ensure your child needs are met.
The Behaviour Specialist works in consultation with a psychologist to provide information and assistance to parents, caregivers and educators supporting a child’s developmental, behavioural and emotional needs. Our Behaviour Specialist will recommend strategies that are based on your child's developmental abilities; family and/or school identified needs, the resources available; as well established practices.
For children who:
- Are 18 months to 12 years old
- Live in Canada
- A parent or a primary caregiver must attend the appointment with your child
- Consultations are booked Monday through Friday 9:00-4:30pm. Some evening appointments are available.
- Consultations are typically 1 hour in length
- Behaviour Specialist with expertise in child development, learning, and behaviour
- This program is a full fee service
- Fee assistance is not available for Consultation services

Can a Behaviour Specialist provide me with an assessment and provide therapy services?
No, behaviour specialists are experts in supporting families and programs with the strategies laid out in an assessment report and tweaking strategies for different environments. Our Behaviour Specialist provides only consultation services for families, parents, community providers and schools. Our Behaviour Specialist does not provide direct therapy services with the child.
Our school would like to request consultation in the classroom. Is this something you can provide?
Yes, we provide consultation to schools on a regular basis to support teachers and education assistants in supporting students. This service is available from therapists in all disciplines including our Behaviour Specialist. Please contact the Intake Coordinator to arrange.
Our school would like an in-service in this developmental area to better support our students. Can you provide this?
Yes, we are able to provide in-services for staff and parent groups. These in-services are available from therapists in all disciplines including our Behaviour Specialist. In-services can be designed specifically to meet your needs. Please contact the Intake Coordinator to arrange.
