Transportation

Parents are encouraged to transport their children to and from programming whenever possible as this helps parents and staff to keep in close communication.

However, EASE Preschool staff recognize that transporting their children to our school can be a challenge for some parents.  Fortunately, Alberta Education has funding which Aspire can access to assist in offering transportation to some of these families. EASE Preschool’s transportation service is available within Red Deer, Lacombe, and Innisfail.

Parents complete an application and submit it to the Transportation Coordinator, who along with other EASE Preschool staff, determine if the service can be arranged. Transportation may be provided by the Centre’s buses or by Child Development Facilitators’ personal vehicles.

To ensure each child’s safety:

  • All staff who transport children have a class 4 license, full insurance coverage and a current driver’s abstract.
  • All EASE Preschool staff participating in the transportation program receive training in car seat installation and safety.  Additionally, some EASE Preschool staff attend a three day course and are certified as Car Seat Restraint Technicians.
  • All students are transported in Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (CMVSS)  approved car seats provided by Aspire.  For installation, tightening (one finger at chest/harness), tethering etc., Aspire staff follow the guidelines as specified in the St. John’s Ambulance training manual.
